The Homeless Era, obvious from its name, was a prolonged period of time where Daniel Larson was homeless. This arc lasted approximately 796 days (or roughly 2 1/2 years), from approximately December 13, 2021 to April 30, 2024, with a break between August to October of 2022, making this the longest time period in the Larsonverse. There have been two homeless arcs, with temporary breaks when Daniel rents motels or is put into state-subsidized housing.

The Homeless Arc, or Homeless Era, is the longest running arc in the Daniel Larson story. The homeless arc began in March 2022, beginning after Daniel ran away from his caretaker, Jonas, under the belief that he was being abused by him. However, the homeless arc temporarily stopped when Daniel got into housing again, but picked up once more following an altercation with his care providers, which resulted in him getting removed from their house. As of 2024, Daniel is still without a permanent housing situation.
The Homeless Era began after Daniel ran away from his caretaker, Jonas, sometime around the end of 2021. This event marked the end of the Classic Era, and the true start of why Daniel Larson became the infamous figure many know him as today. Daniel was homeless for approximately eight months before he briefly received housing from the Shields Foundation in August 2022, before being evicted following an altercation with his care providers.

To the surprise of many, Daniel has been able to survive being homeless. He has done so through various (and oftentimes, illegal) means, such as dine and dashing or relying on fans to pay for his meals. Since he is almost constantly on his phone (such as when he ran an entire marathon, phone in hand), Daniel will usually charge his phone at restaurants or other public areas. On occasion, Daniel will resort to trespassing if he cannot find a receptacle in a public place, causing points of contention with the staff after he is found in them.
Throughout the Homeless Era, Daniel faced several challenges, such as frequent illness, somehow contracting trench foot, getting into several altercations, and being arrested several times. Daniel was also banned from several services and resturants, and his mental health declined significantly compared to the start of the era. Despite trying to look for an apartment, or other forms of long-term housing, he ultimately failed due to his irresponsibility with money, combined with other factors.

Origins
In 2024, Daniel faced multiple arrests. He was temporarily housed during the Jail Arc, and during several other arrests. Despite these breaks from homelessness, Daniel was still homeless throughout the year. However, this arc came to a permanent stop on April 30, 2024, when Daniel was arrested by the FBI on several federal charges, thereby ending the Homeless Era after almost two and a half years.

Background
While there is a possibility the Homeless Era may return, it is unlikely given Daniel's current circumstances.
Before the arc began, Daniel was living with a host named Jonas, and a housemate named Gavin. The household was in a constant state of chaos, so much so that at one point, Daniel believed that he was "poisoned" with mustard in his macaroni and cheese. Daniel fled from the house, as he couldn't take the chaos that ensued within Jonas' household. The departure may have also been influenced by trolls or managers. This "manager" informed him that Grace VanderWaal was in Colorado Springs, and that Daniel had 24 hours to get there (from Denver) if he wanted to be with her.

Due to his lack of housing, the amount of running water Daniel has access to is only in limited quantities, as he relied solely on commercial establishments and free drinking water. However, even given this limited quantity of water, Daniel had had access to showers and bathrooms many times, namely when he stayed in motels or places such as Planet Fitness (at least, before he got banned from all of them.) Instead, Daniel chooses to do nothing with the resources given to him.

"Conclusion" of the homeless arc
An example of this would be when, on February 10th, 2023, Daniel was kicked out of a Planet Fitness bathroom after loitering for several hours. Instead of choosing to use the facilities available to him, Daniel hunched over in the bathroom, playing on his phone. It is unknown why Daniel refuses to shower, however, it can be assumed that it comes from sensory overloads that come with his autism, which he is notably afflicted with.
The Homeless Arc came to a close when Daniel was approached by Briiink, which was the name of a TikTok account run by two teenage boys who were fans of him. Briiink took Daniel out for meals, bathing, and a haircut, which made him look presentable in public again. Daniel was then introduced to Twitch, a popular streaming service, by Ox, a discord user. Through Twitch he was able to receive donations which he used to get hotels or Airbnbs.

While Daniel has stopped streaming on Twitch, his housing situation is far from stable. Daniel broke his phone at one point, which made it difficult to make contact with people.

The Homeless Era began after Daniel ran away from his caretaker, Jonas, sometime around the end of 2021.[lower-alpha 1] This event marked the end of the Classic Era, and the true start of why Daniel Larson became the infamous figure many know him as today. Daniel was homeless for approximately eight months before he briefly received housing from the Shields Foundation in August 2022, before being evicted following an altercation with his care providers.

While there is a possibility the Homeless Era may return, it is unlikely given Daniel's current circumstances.

Background

The events leading up to the the Homeless Era was by the Hype House Arc, where Daniel lived with a host named Jonas, a housemate named Gavin, and Jonas' wife. The household was in a constant state of chaos, as Gavin (much like Daniel) would have frequent outbursts that caused Daniel to act out in response. Daniel's paranoia during this arc was strong, so much so that Daniel, at one point, believed that he had been "poisoned" after honey mustard was mixed into his macaroni and cheese.

Daniel fought with Jonas and Gavin constantly, and at one point, believed Jonas to have been abusing him and hitting him. At one point, he even said that Jonas was "being racist" towards him.[1] This is extremely ironic, especially given his use of the n-word. It was extremely obvious that Jonas, despite never kicking Daniel out, did not want him in the house, as they'd get into frequent altercations due to Daniel refusing to follow the rules, as well as frequently verbally abusing him. This would come to a head sometime around the beginning of 2022, when Daniel ran away from Jonas' house, ending the Classic Era and Hype House Arc, which started the Homeless Era. The departure may have also been influenced by trolls or managers, though this cannot be confirmed. While the day in which Daniel left housing is unknown, much of the community agrees that it most likely occurred on December 13th, 2021.

Daniel has stated that his music "career" led him to be homeless, as, apparently, his caretakers were "holding him back".[citation needed] But no matter what the reasons were, from this day onwards, Daniel would become a homeless vagrant.

In June 2021, during the Likee Meltdown, Daniel expressed fear that he would become homeless, which became a reality nearly six months later.

First Homeless Arc

But a taste of Daniel's living conditions.

Despite running away from housing, Daniel had been able to (albeit, barely) survive being homeless. But even though he was very much alive, being homeless had severe consequences for Daniel's health.

Obviously, Daniel did not have much money at this time, mainly reliable on the charity of his fans. So, in order to feed himself, he did so through various, oftentimes illegal means, such as dine and dashing, which in some cases has resulted in him getting arrested. A prime example of this would happen on May 13th, 2022, where Daniel was promptly arrested after dining and dashing at a Hard Rock Cafe.[2]

An if he had not already been confronted for dining and dashing or general unpleasent behaviour, Daniel would constantly be on his phone (such as when he ran an entire marathon, phone in hand), loitering and charging his phone at restaurants or other public areas. On occasion, Daniel would resort to trespassing if he couldn't find a receptacle in a public place, often causing points of contention with staff. An example of this happened on May 13th, 2022, the same day he would be later arrested, where Daniel was seen trying to charge his phone on a man's porch (and when confronted, called him the N-word, no less).

This is not the face of a homeless, dirty bum, this is the face of a celebrity!

Being without a home did not provide ample opportunity for Daniel to bath, obviously.

An example of this would be when, on February 10th, 2023, Daniel was kicked out of a Planet Fitness bathroom after loitering for several hours. Instead of choosing to use the facilities available to him, Daniel hunched over in the bathroom, playing on his phone. As such, Daniel has been in a visibly dirty state for months on end, nails overgrown and dirt caked underneath them. It is unknown why Daniel refuses to shower, however, it can be assumed that it comes from sensory overloads that come with his autism, which he is notably afflicted with.

On the 12th of February, 2023, Daniel let his TikTok viewers know the absolute abysmal state of his health, showing off the injuries his feet had accrued.[3]

Twitch channel, and help from Briiink and Ox

During late May, Daniel was approached by Briiink, a popular TikToker who wished to assist him. Briiink helped Daniel greatly by doing deeds such as taking Daniel out for meals, allowing him to bath and get a haircut, which made him look presentable in public again.[citation needed]

Sometime in July, Daniel was then introduced to Twitch, a popular streaming service, by Ox, his then manager. Ox, at the time, wished to help Daniel by getting him enough money to have a long-term living arrangement. He would accomplish this through Twitch, where he was able to receive donations through superchats and payouts from being a Twitch Affiliate. With this money, Ox would buy Daniel several hotels or Airbnbs, where Daniel remained in relatively frequently. Though, many people questioned his methods of helping Daniel, as once, Ox leaked Daniel's phone number,[citation needed] and at one point playing a fake video that announced the entire country was being nuked, resulting in Daniel telling the management of the hotel, to which he would soon be kicked out.

However, this did not mean all would be well for Daniel. On July 26, 2022, Daniel broke his phone by throwing it during heated argument with his mentor, most likely referring to Bob Proctor. While Daniel was explaining the situation, he accidentally dropped his new $300 tablet that he was "forced" to buy, breaking it.[4][5]

On November 22nd, Briiink would completely cut off Daniel due to him disagreeing with his actions, namely Daniel's pedophilic tendancies, and violent outbursts, which he had experianced firsthand.[6][7]

Second Housing Arc

Main Article: Second Housing Arc

In late July, Daniel would begin to visit the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center, or the DDRC, in an attempt to obtain stable housing, and to help with his various legal issues.[8] This would eventually prove successful, as Daniel would be placed into housing very soon on August 31st, starting the Second Housing Arc.

Not much is known about Daniel's time in this house, as much from this time is lost, but from the video Daniel took while being kicked out, it can be surmised that Daniel had been giving out the address of his disability housing (or at the very least, was doxxed), which resulted in several deliveries and pizza bombs. Second Homeless Arc

Transported to Colorado Springs

On October 19, Daniel spent some time with his 'new friends' at Dave & Buster's. The next day, on October 20, after spending the night in a hotel, they brought Daniel up to Colorado Springs. Here is is alleged that they realized Daniel was too much trouble and abandoned him at a Walgreens. Daniel felt forced to walk back to Denver; he made it to Monument, Colorado before being picked up by fans. That night, Daniel refused to go to a homeless shelter because he thought he was too famous.

Preparing for the Cold

Daniel spends most of his time in Denver, Colorado, which has average lows of 23 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter.[9] Daniel has never been homeless during the winter, causing some to question his ability to survive in these conditions. Daniel has already been forced to spend a night in an elevator with other homeless men.

Homeless Elevator

On October 25, 2022, Daniel uploaded a video in which he is sharing an elevator with three other presumably homeless men. Lighters are visible in the video, indicating that there may have been drug use, although this is merely speculation.

An unknown fan tracked down the location to 39°45'23.5"N 105°00'06.9"W, matching the metal grating seen in the video with the stairs going up to the pedestrian bridge located there.

Sleeping on mountains and use of storage unit

On December 30 2023 Daniel was livestreaming on TikTok when he had a conversation with a fan. Daniel revealed that he had slept on top of a mountain and that he has a storage unit where he keeps some of things, including a sleeping bag.

Transcript

I slept up on Lookout Mountain.

On Lookout Mountain there?

I walked all the way up, yeah.

Wait, like on the bench or something?

There's, there's like a picnic area all the way up near Buffalo Bill's grave.

Yeah.

And I went all the way up there.

Is it indoors or?

It's outdoors.

Man, were you cold man?

Yeah. It is what it is right now.

Need to buy you a hat or something or something? Seriously. It's like all you, all you have to wear?

The Jail Arc

Following Daniel's arrest on the 3rd of February, he was placed in jail between Arapahoe and Boulder County. This started the Jail Arc. He had spent a month within the jail system until the 1st of March 2024 when he was released on 12 months of probation. Following his release, he had become homeless again.

Second Jail Arc & Ending

After being arrested two more times and periods of intermittent homelessness, Daniel was arrested by the FBI on April 30th for the threats he had made over the past year. He has spent several months in federal prison and is unlikely to be released, thereby ending the Homeless Era after 2 1/2 years.

Footnotes

 1. The exact date of this is unclear, but it can be assumed that Daniel ran away around the end of 2021, due to Daniel being definitely homeless during the Headset Arc, which happened during early 2022.
