The Porch Charging Incident occurred on May 13, 2022, wherein Daniel began to charge his phone on an unknown man's porch, before being confronted by the homeowner. This occurred around the time when Daniel left the house provided to him by Jonas and his disability services, marking the beginning of the first Homeless Era. Even though he spent most of his days sleeping outside, he still managed to post TikToks from his phone.

Despite being homeless, Daniel still managed to find places to charge his phone, as he was still posting videos all day. Daniel mostly charged his phone at restaurants, stores, and other public facilities. However, after Daniel returned from his hike from Castle Rock on May 13, 2022, he decided to charge his phone on someone’s private property. When the owner of the house found out Daniel was charging his phone there, he became enraged with Daniel, got aggressive, and called the police after Daniel refused to leave despite being asked to multiple times.

Daniel then started having a meltdown, resorting to call the owner of the property a racial slur. When a user pointed out in the comments that it is wrong to say racial slurs, Daniel responded by saying, “True unless it’s because you are really scared for your safety.” Despite this, Daniel's statement does not make sense, as he has also used the slur in situations where nobody is around.

The video has since been deleted from YouTube, however there are many re-uploads on various platforms.

Daniel's Retrospective

Daniel has addressed the incident in hindsight / retrospect several times. Daniel claimed to have said the N Word simply in self-defense, although its questionable was "defense" this provided for him, as it increased the severity of the situation further.[1][2]

In a Discord interview in April 2023 regarding the incident, he claimed to have been in an unfamiliar area while having a dead phone. Without access to an electrical outlet, he was told to knock on homes in the area, "door-to-door," until he found an "abandoned" house with an electrical outlet. Daniel claimed to have sat on the porch to charge his phone and then find directions. The owner arrived, to where Daniel felt threatened enough to begin filming. When attempting to leave, he encountered resistance from the homeowner. When questioned about his use of the "Tactical Slur" by the interviewers, Daniel explained that he initially attempted silence, then tried talking over the person, resorting to the word as a last resort to silence them. He explicitly stated that he had not used the term as a "self-defense word" prior to this particular incident.[3]
