As of April 2024, Daniel has been to jail a whopping number of 7 times, 4 for being a fugitive of justice – after time and time again of not attending court), 2 for assault, one of which being to his own mother, and 1 time for an unknown charge. Daniel has found himself with charges for destruction of private property, petty theft, trespassing, criminal mischief, and so on. Despite this, Daniel has hardly faced any incarceration despite these crimes, and when he has, he has rarely ever stayed behind bars for very long, only receiving a slap on the wrist.

Colorado, where Daniel has resided for most of his life, has several laws meant to imprison repeat offenders – which often times means that if an individual is brought in a third time for a felony or misdemeanor, the sentence if found guilty is more severe than than the last (in some states, the sentence is life in prison). But, seeing as Daniel has almost always gotten away with a slap on the wrist, it is very unlikely that he'll be staying in jail, much less prison. Due to the negligence of the police, several businesses still continue to be defrauded by Daniel, and Daniel continues to assault those he's close to without much punishment.

However, after his arrest on April 30th, where he is now at risk of being in jail for up to 65 years, this notion is on its way to changing.

Understanding of the Law
On May 13th, 2022, Daniel was charged with petty theft, based on the location of the violation: "500 16TH ST #120". It appears to be the location of a Hard Rock Café suggesting it was a target of one of Larson's dine and dashes.
As with his grip on reality, Daniel's understanding of the law is tenuous at least. Daniel legitimately believes trolling is illegal, as well as regularly threatening unspecified legal actions against people who say mean things to him online, expose him for pedophilic behavior, or employees who remove them from establishments.

Trespassing
Daniel himself is prone to making violent threats, such as threatening to kill Bob Proctor on several occasions, as well as threatening to blow up with White House which are, of course, illegal to make. Daniel is also prone to calling the police for ridiculous reasons, such as when he (albeit, allegedly) screamed that he had a bomb to a 911 operator after Music was rescued from him, as well as demanding police officers to "CALL FUCKING DISPATCH!" in response to him being trolled online. These are, also, illegal (wasting police time) but Daniel has of now never been prosecuted for them. Interestingly, Daniel seems to have a rather skewed view of the idea of "self-defense". During several fights with Bob or others, he is often the one to start altercations opposed to protecting himself whenever they happen.
On May 15th, 2023, Daniel posted that overnight he was given a citation for sleeping in a MTA subway station. He said that it was a $100 fine, and posted a video that briefly shows the ticket on his Tik tok page.

The following is a list of incidents Daniel has had with the law.

2017
On November 6th, 2017, Daniel was arrested for 3rd degree assault after getting into a physical altercation with his wheelchair bound mother, which ended up with him being sent to jail for 44-45 days. It is unknown what caused this situation, however, Daniel claims that it was aggravated after his mother allegedly cornered him, causing him to push her to the side.  On this day, Daniel also received charges for instances of property damage and criminal mischief, although what happened to cause these charges is unknown and will most likely stay unknown.

2020
In 2020, Daniel was reported to the FBI following the leaking of his Pinterest account in November. His Pinterest account contained several saved pictures of children, as well as a map of the age of consent in the United States. Several TikTok users, most notably The Delegation Podcast, were under the assumption that Daniel was under the possession of illegal images of minors, which resulted in him being reported to the FBI as a result. These reports  sparked the first Dark Age, where Daniel left the internet for 3 1/2 months, coming back to TikTok in March of 2021.

While it is unclear what truly happened, and what the legal proceedings were, Daniel claimed on several occasions that he was investigated by FBI, and due to this, he was unable to show his face until further notice, and at a later date, claimed he was "cleared".

7/11 Incident
As noted, on July 11th, 2023, Daniel walked into a local Walmart in a fit of rage after having the dog he adopted, Music, rescued from him. He proceeded to destroy several stands of merchandise, as well as attempting to hijack a bus full of elderly people, smashing the leash he'd bought earlier into the window. This ended up in Daniel being pinned to the floor by several police officers while he cried hysterically about Music being "dognapped."

On July 11, 2023, Daniel livestreamed an interaction he had with EMTs after calling 911 multiple times. While he was in the ambulance a police officer was able to charge him $500 for damages to a wall at the School of Mines. Daniel quickly admitted to his crimes claiming he damaged the wall to make sure he was heard, that "this was serious".
In retellings of this incident, Daniel claims to have been illegally arrested and placed into police custody unfairly.

School of Mines Wall Damage
On September 14th, 2023 Daniel announced he would be appearing in court the following day in a YouTube short and several community posts. This was an arraignment for two misdemeanours at the Jefferson County Court in Golden, Colorado to which he turned up late. It is uncertain what exactly the charges were but he claimed that the maximum sentence was two years in jail. Daniel would plead not guilty, likely to buy him some time and hope for a good plea bargain. His next appearance in court would be set as October 31st, 2023 for a pre-trial conference.
On July 11th, 2023, the same day as the 7/11 Incident, Daniel livestreamed an interaction he had with EMTs after calling 911 multiple times. While he was in the ambulance a police officer was able to charge him $500 for damages to a wall at the School of Mines. Daniel quickly admitted to his crimes claiming he damaged the wall to make sure he was heard, that "this was serious".

After the arraignment, Daniel was again interviewed by Dylan. Daniel was asked several questions regarding Grace Vanderwaal, the trolls, leaked nudes and dating sites. In another video, Dylan also presented Daniel with some texts regarding Grace and Phi Kappa Tau. Daniel appeared troubled by these texts and proceeded to ask permission to take a photo of Dylan's phone. He soon after posted the image to YouTube through several community posts. There would later be a pre court interview uploaded by Dylan's friend, baristamuffin64.

October 3rd Arrest
On October 3rd, 2023, Daniel Larson was taken into custody at the Jefferson County Detention Facility in Golden, Colorado, for missing his court date the day prior. A few hours later however, he was later released through means of being bonded out. Little is known about this arrest.

Before the Arrest
2024
On September 16th, 2023, Daniel was attempting to get onto Folsom Field right before a football game was about to start. He claimed that "Coach Prime" had texted him previously about when to get to the field and when to pick up his "VIP passes." Larson went live while he was outside of the field and started complaining to other college students that he was supposed to be on the field with Deion Sanders. He explained that he couldn't pick up said "passes" the night before and therefore security wouldn't let him on the field. Daniel went to his community page and started to frantically post things like, "I'm supposed to have the VIP pass," "I'm going back to the field," and "I got to go to the celebrity entrance."

His last post claimed that trolls were attempting to get him banned from the University of Colorado,

and then Larson goes silent on social media. An audio recording is released of Daniel right before his arrest.

The Assault
Daniel, already frustrated with the security at Folsom Field, allegedly kicks a security guard.

Although no video of the assault has been released as of 9/17/23, numerous bystanders caught the arrest on video.

Not much is known (as of 9/17/23) besides Daniel being charged with third degree assault and

the fact he is currently locked up.

No mugshot of Daniel has been released either and many speculate that Daniel will be out of jail within a couple of days. Many people on the Daniel Larson subreddit have requested for more information regarding Danderson's arrest and if he is going to be released or locked up for a long period of time.

Many have gone on the say that this is the beginning of the "Jail Arc", or "State Property Arc" and memes are currently going around the subreddit.

Daniel's Release
At 3:30P.M EST on 9/18/23 Daniel was scheduled for court. Many people searched for a link to watch, but because so many people got on the Colorado Judicial System website it crashed, leading to no livestream of Daniel's court appearance. Someone found a link to a Webex meeting, and many people from the subreddit began to join. Many are calling this the "Webex Incident" and/or "September 18th Incident" because the judge had to kick everyone from the live stream. They had to do this because of people joining and drawing explicit photos/threatening to bomb to courthouse.

On September 18th, 2023, just two days after being arrested, Daniel Larson has been released from jail. Photos were posted on the subreddit following his release. Another redditor posted a text message confirmation of Daniel's release. Many have posted about how this is a failure of the justice system, and questioned how he was allowed to even be released.

As of 10:04P.M EST on 9/18/23, Daniel has not made a return to social media. When he was spotted after his release, many noticed that he did not have his phone in his hand and did not have his backpack either. Some have speculated that he has his phone, but no charger.

Daniel's Return to Social Media
On September 19th, 2023, at approximately 11am MDT, Daniel made his return to social media, for the first time since his arrest, in the form of a YouTube community post claiming he was falsely arrested. It should be noted that while he claims the arrest was unjustified, he later admitted in another community post that he "... hit 2[sic] security guards". This confirmed the rumour that he had assaulted two guards that led to his arrest. On the same day, Daniel also posted a YouTube short, making it his first video appearance since the arrest. In the short he is seemingly calling out Fox News for "... stealing [his] views". <gallery>

Daniel Larson was arrested for a federal warrant on all the threats he made from various meltdowns, all of which were investigated by Daniel MacDougall starting in the summer of 2023. He was booked into the Jefferson County Detention Facility, and was ineligible for bail, possibly indicating felony charges. As the charges were more severe than the previous, this commenced the Second Jail Arc. The charges were revealed later and he was transferred to FCI Englewood the next month, where he has institutionalized since July 19 after being found incompetent to stand trial. He was transferred out of FCI Englewood on December 10, 2024.

This arc is much longer than his previous incarcerations or arcs, spanning over 7 months.

Revision as of 01:22, 12 December 2024

A compilation of (most) of Daniel's mugshots.

Laws are a set of rules established by a society, typically to protect its members and ensure the orderly function of society. For, Daniel, however, laws serve as a deterrent in his career as a singer-songwriter and aspirations of marrying Grace VanderWaal. As one can guess, he has been in trouble with the law on several occasions, racking up an incredible amount of charges and visits to jail.

As of September 2024, Daniel has been to jail a whopping number of 7 times, 4 for being a fugitive of justice – after repeatedly not attending court, 2 for assault, one of which being to his own mother, and 1 time for making terroristic threats against the government.

Daniel has found himself with charges for destruction of private property, petty theft, trespassing, criminal mischief, and so on. Despite this, Daniel has hardly faced any incarceration despite these crimes, and when he has, his stays behind bars are typically brief.

Colorado, where Daniel has resided for most of his life, has several laws meant to imprison repeat offenders – which often times means that if an individual is brought in a third time for a felony or misdemeanor, the sentence if found guilty is more severe than than the last (in some states, the sentence is life in prison). But, seeing as Daniel has almost always gotten away with a slap on the wrist, it is very unlikely that he will be staying in jail, much less prison. Due to the negligence of the police, several businesses have been defrauded by Daniel.

However, after his arrest on April 30th, where he is now at risk of being in jail for up to 65 years, this notion is on its way to changing.

Understanding of the Law

As with his grip on reality, Daniel's understanding of the law is tenuous at least. Daniel legitimately believes trolling is illegal, as well as regularly threatening unspecified legal actions against people who say mean things to him online, expose him for pedophilic behavior, or employees who remove them from establishments.

Daniel himself is prone to making violent threats, such as threatening to kill Bob Proctor on several occasions, as well as threatening to blow up with White House[1] which are, of course, illegal to make.

All in all, to Daniel, laws only apply to trolls and those who he dislikes.

Timeline

Several TikTok users, most notably The Delegation Podcast, were under the assumption that Daniel was under the possession of illegal images of minors, which resulted in him being reported to the FBI as a result.[2] These reports sparked the first Dark Age, where Daniel left the internet for 3 1/2 months, coming back to TikTok in March of 2021.

While it is unclear what truly happened, and what the legal proceedings were, Daniel claimed on several occasions that he was investigated by FBI, and due to this, he was unable to show his face until further notice, and at a later date, claimed he was "cleared".

2021

Destruction of property

Daniel's court order for property destruction. (Featuring his dirty thumb!)

On August 13th, 2021, Daniel was charged with destruction of property for smashing the window of a car.[3]

Due to this, Daniel was summoned to court. He failed to appear four separate times, and as a result had $350 worth of fees imposed on him via bond, bond forfeiture, and warrant fees. $100 worth of these have been paid, leaving $250 due.[citation needed]

On August 29th, 2022, Daniel's destruction of property charge was dismissed. [4]

2022

Petty Theft

On May 13th, 2022, Daniel was charged with petty theft, based on the location of the violation: "500 16TH ST #120". It appears to be the location of a Hard Rock Café, suggesting it was a target of one of Daniel's dine and dashes.

Criminal Mischief

On June 9th, 2022, a criminal mischief case was opened against Daniel. After failing to appear once, the warrant was executed when he was arrested during his October 16th tantrum. Daniel was appointed a public defender on October 25th with his "plea and setting hearing" on November 28th.

Alleged warrant merge

On August 4th 2022, Daniel uploaded a video announcing that he had gotten all of his warrants taken care of by "merging it all into one case", saying that it should all be cleared up within the month.[5][6] While its validity is unclear, it is most likely that his cases were merged into one individual case due to Daniel repeatedly not showing up for them when ordered to.

Destruction of Property

On October 16th, 2022, a new case was opened for Daniel for destruction of property. The details of this are unknown, and it is unclear as to what happened to cause this. Daniel failed to appear on December 20th, 2022, and several other times after that. Eventually, his warrant was canceled on June 21, 2023.[7]

2023

Trespassing

On May 15th, 2023, Daniel posted that overnight he was given a citation for sleeping in a MTA subway station. He said that it was a $100 fine, and posted a video that briefly shows the ticket on his TikTok account.[8]

Dine and Dashing

Daniels arrest record.

On January 19th, 2023, Daniel was arrested for attempting to dine and dash at a Cheesecake Factory in Anaheim, California. Daniel was charged with "defrauding an innkeeper" and received a $950 fine.

In retellings of this incident, Daniel claims to have been illegally arrested and placed into police custody unfairly.

School of Mines Wall Damage

On July 11th, 2023, the same day as the 7/11 Incident, Daniel livestreamed an interaction he had with EMTs after calling 911 multiple times. While he was in the ambulance a police officer was able to charge him $500 for damages to a wall at the School of Mines. Daniel quickly admitted to his crimes claiming he damaged the wall to make sure he was heard, that "this was serious".

Jefferson County Court Hearings

On September 14th, 2023, Daniel announced he would be appearing in court the following day in a YouTube short and several community posts.[9] This was an arraignment for two misdemeanors at the Jefferson County Court in Golden, Colorado to which he turned up late. It is uncertain what exactly the charges were but he claimed that the maximum sentence was two years in jail. Daniel would plead not guilty, likely to buy him some time and hope for a good plea bargain. His next appearance in court would be set as October 31st, 2023, for a pre-trial conference.

There would later be a pre court interview uploaded by Dylan's friend, baristamuffin64.[10]

October 3rd Arrest

On October 3rd, 2023, Daniel Larson was taken into custody at the Jefferson County Detention Facility in Golden, Colorado, for missing his court date the day prior. A few hours later however, he was later released through means of being bonded out. Little is known about this arrest.

2024

February 3rd Arrest

Daniel Larson had a warrant issued for his arrest for being a fugitive of justice on January 23, 2024. He would later be arrested on February 3 and booked into the Arapahoe County Jail with a bond of $20,000 after he failed to show up to court. The Jail Arc would commence, and he would remain in jail for four weeks. On February 14, he was transferred to the Boulder County Jail and his bond was lowered to $5,000. He was released on March 1, 2024 after a court hearing.

March 19th Arrest

Daniel Larson would be arrested again for a warrant for Fugitive of Justice. He was booked into the Broomfield County Detention Center, and was held at a $1,000 bond. He was released three days later after a court hearing, with his probation reinstated.

April 2nd Arrest

Daniel Larson would be arrested for the fourth time this year, again, for fugitive of justice. This was caused by missing court on March 27, 2024, despite showing up very late. He was arrested on the bus, and booked into the Douglas County Detention Facility, and was held at a bond of $1,500 before being released the next day.

April 30th Arrest
