Daniel MacDougall, often referred to as "MacDougall", or misspelled McDougall, is a Secret Service agent who played a notable role in Daniel Larson's story, often seen as an antagonist. He has been assigned to work on cases involving Daniel with their connection frequently cited in relation to multiple incidents and statements made by Daniel, emphasizing MacDougall's role in addressing the situations. The information about MacDougall is scant, with most details coming from Daniel talking to him, commonly by mouth or few screenshots of texts between them. While MacDougall is a real person and may have been in contact with Daniel at one point, his name was even used by trolls to deceive Daniel into various things.[1] How much interaction he has and has had with Daniel and his current plans was highly debated in the community.[2] However, MacDougall's official authenticity and role within the Larsonverse was confirmed following Daniel's arrest on 7 federal counts of making threats.

Relation to Daniel Larson

It is unclear when MacDougall came into the picture, but he has been mentioned around mid-August 2023 on the r/daniellarson subreddit. The reason MacDougall was involved was because Daniel has made threats towards the White House, including bomb threats.

During Daniel's Dog Arc, Daniel says "...I am done, and I will not stop until the White House is blown up." [3]. The incident is known as the 7/11 Incident or the July 11th Incident, where he reportedly entered a Walmart and began to destroy things, leading to the police being called. Daniel then made multiple 9-1-1 calls, in attempt to "get some security out here" where one of the calls included him making threats towards the White House, and claiming to have a bomb [4], "...Okay so I just called 9-1-1 and I just literally just screamed I have a bomb on the 9-1-1 number and randomly hung up in hopes to get this situation heard...". Daniel makes multiple calls towards 9-1-1, asking for "security protection" [5].

On August 30, 2023, Daniel went live in a video titled "Daniel Larson on his way to meet up with the investigator", and at the very end of the live stream Daniel is approaching two people who greet him and ask him to stop live streaming, which Daniel complies. Many people suspect that one of the men here was MacDougall. [6][7]

Interaction beings around 7:00

On October 10th, 2023, MacDougall was allegedly impersonated by three males who appeared to be there to speak to Daniel, as two sat across at another table Daniel and one sat with Daniel, it was clear they all had a relation to each other as one started to smile and laugh and abruptly left. The video is very short, so it is unclear what their intention was and if it was to actually impersonate MacDougall [8].

On November 11th, 2023, Daniel went live, and at one point closer to the end of the 11-minute stream, he claims that MacDougall got involved because of his merchandise, and that it was part of the reason he got involved because he investigates financial fraud. It is not outlined why MacDougall had to investigate the merchandise [9].

On December 10th, 2023, Daniel believed he was going to have dinner with MacDougall, along with Grace VanderWaal and other celebrities at Olive Garden, which turned into a fiasco.

On December 22nd, 2023, according to Daniel, Clark, who is part of Daniel's Management, claimed to befriend MacDougall[10]. Shortly after, Daniel uploaded another TikTok saying that MacDougall talked to Clark and "is demanding that Clark records all phone calls with me, and Clark is claiming that he denied it." [11]. A few days later, on Christmas, Daniel made a threat toward him, "I will fucking have Daniel MacDougall fucking killed." [12].

MacDougall is more than likely impersonated, considering how trolls try to impersonate people such as Grace VanderWaal to manipulate Daniel into saying or doing things [13].

On December 25, 2023, Reddit user nancyshimer posted to Reddit claiming to have emailed MacDougall from the pseudonym Todd Baysinger a video from the Christmas Day Meltdown where he threatens MacDougall's life. [14] The user later posted that he responded with "Thanks, I’m aware. If he makes any further similar posts, let me know." [15]

On December 31st, 2023, a troll impersonating MacDougall commented on one of Daniel's TikTok videos and Daniel believed it. A couple videos after the comment a video was uploaded where he says that MacDougall had called him to tell him the same thing. [16]

MacDougall Impersonator telling Daniel he is being investigated for tax fraud

On February 15th, 2024, MacDougall is brought up during Daniel Larson's Jail Arc, which was the first call. The mention was minimum, however Flexburger asked Daniel if a "... ununiformed police officer who I honestly think was MacDougall..." was undercover in the jail. Daniel said he does not think it was, however he does think it was somebody from the F.B.I." [1]

On April 6, 2024, Daniel went live in a fit of rage, having one of the most intense meltdowns he ever had. During this meltdown, he went on a massive threat-filled tirade, at one point threatening to bomb MacDougall.

MacDougall had Daniel arrested on the 30th of April 2024. (see below)

Relation to the Secret Service

Daniel MacDougall is employed by the United States Secret Service, being assigned to the Denver Field Office in July 2020, where he focused on fraud related issues to small businesses, with a focus on Economic Injury Disaster Loans [18]. It is possible that MacDougall was not related to the investigations of Daniel's threats towards the White House, but that he was involved in investigating potential fraud connected to Daniel, but possible that he also investigated him because of the threats.

Daniel MacDougall Secret Service business card

During a live stream, Daniel holds up several business cards. One of them being a card that reads "United States Secret Service - Denver Field Office - Daniel MacDougall - Special Agent", with a silver logo on the left and Daniel covering the bottom half of the card to prevent information such as a phone number, or location being revealed [19].

Texts between Daniel and MacDougall

At one point, Daniel shares a screenshot of texts between him and MacDougall, where Daniel says that he agrees to meet MacDougall in his office. MacDougall provides Daniel an address to an office in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The building is a shared office building, and the Suite being an official Secret Service office. There is no information about this office, or what it is used for. It is not known what was discussed in the their office, or what was discussed about but possibly about pressing charges to an unknown individual.

Daniel MacDougall was formally on a website called ACAMS, ran by The Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, a private company. MacDougall's information was abruptly removed from the website, however it was omitted from this user page considering it had his picture. It is unclear who MacDougall currently works for, however MacDougall does or has at one point worked for the U.S.S.S.
