Daniel's Phones

Daniel has owned various phones or other mobile devices which he uses not just daily, but all the time. Seriously. Daniel is a severe addict to his phone.

Phone Plan

It is not 100% confirmed how Daniel constantly is able to renew cellular service and get phones. Bob is known to have paid for his plans on multiple occasions. Government-assisted cell phone plans do exist in the United States (i.e: ObamaPhone) and Daniel definitely qualified for it at some point, being disabled and homeless. Daniel's cellular service is almost certainly on a prepaid plan, known for being cheap, affordable, and usually including a free, very cheap Android phone. Despite this, he constantly asks for donations in order to pay his phone bill.

November 2023

“ Alright, you guys are actively pissing me off. Okay. I am aware that Bob isn't supposed to be responsible for me. So that means fucking donate and listen to my fucking music. ” — Daniel claiming financial independence then immediately begging fans to give him money to pay his phone bill

In November of 2023 Daniel begged for donations as his plan would end on November 3rd if he didn't pay his $50 phone bill.

He reveals that Bob is refusing to pay for it.

On November 3, 2023, the day his phone plan would run out, his begging grew more intense, blaming fans for the situation.

The Phones

Infamously, Daniel's notification ringtone can be heard in many of his videos (including his first ever TikTok). The notification sound varies depending on what phone he owned at the time, the two most known being the "Moto" sound from a Motorola phone and the "Crystal" sound from an LG phone. The vibration sound can also be clearly heard as well due to it being a cheap phone. This rarely happens, if at all in Daniel's most recent videos. This would occur from his phone number leaking or otherwise getting notifications during the filming of a video.

The phones Daniel uses are always cheap / budget Android phones, which are commonly sold at stores bundled with a prepaid service plan. Interestingly, Daniel has never been seen with an iPhone, meaning he is completely unaware of the American social dynamic of "iPhone superiority"; considering iPhones are the standard for celebrities it's surprising he hasn't tried to get one.

Daniel's phone number constantly gets leaked, but it's entirely his fault since he is known to give his contact information to any low-level troll who convinces him that he is talking to Grace VanderWaal, management, an underage girl or other entities he would want to contact. In fact, Daniel would openly give out his number mostly in 2020, on social media like TikTok or Twitter (X).

Phone Addiction

Daniel is clearly addicted to his phone and can be seen with it at all times. Due to his long-running homelessness, Daniel is forced to charge his phone in public places and on occasion, private property. In addition, when Daniel is spotted by fans, he is now always talking (likely pretending) to someone on the phone, usually "Security". Also, one of the main reasons that Daniel is homeless is because places that would take him don't want him posting on social media or using his phone, therefore he refuses those services.

Who is he talking to?

During the Denver Colfax Marathon 2022, Daniel was on his phone the entire time, which likely contributed to his approximately 6-and-a-half-hour marathon time.

Reddit user /u/Most_Shopping_9936 uploaded a snippet from a Discord call in which Daniel has lost in phone in the dark and is frantically trying to find it. In the video (which is only audio) you can hear a very distraught Daniel and what sounds like him hitting himself while continuously saying "where is my phone?". The Reddit user stated that this happened April 25 2022 and occurred because he got into a argument with someone on Discord and ended up throwing his phone

Typing

Most of the time, Daniel uses the dictation / speech-to-text feature on his phone to type in posts. The most obvious sign of this, is when he posts messages that actually have proper punctuation and capitalization. The dictation feature does not solve his speech impediment, and will often misunderstand what he is trying to say. He still manages to use emojis, though clearly not always understanding what they are supposed to mean.

Search History

Daniel's search history was exposed once Flexburger gained access remotely to Daniel's phone, where very disturbing results were found.

Texting

As Daniel's phone number is effectively an open secret, weens / trolls will text Daniel via SMS claiming to be an important figure, such as Grace or her family, Daniel MacDougall or the FBI, Columbia Records, etc. For some reason, Daniel continues to believe these trolls, out of desperation, delusion, plain stupidity, or some other unknown motive.

Social Media

Daniel's most important activity on his phone is probably posting on social media throughout the entire day; it is the entire reason that we are able to chronicle his daily activities. Daniel mostly posts TikToks and YouTube content such as live streams, videos, and community posts. Daniel has also been known to join Discord servers and the DanielLarson subreddit in the past. Daniel is also known to have accounts on Instagram, Twitter (X), Quora, and Likee.

Contacts

A photo of Daniel's phone contacts from May 2022 surfaced in 2023; among these were Bob Proctor, "Brad Pit", "Cyber Threat's And Hurassment", Dixie D'Amelio, as well as over 5 different entries for Grace VanderWaal.

Phonelessness

To no one's surprise, it's not always easy for a homeless man to charge his phone. Because he is addicted to it, if Daniel loses access to his phone, he will not react well.

Radio silence

Often times, when Daniel is left without a phone he is left without a way to communicate to the outside world (posting videos). This is most likely when his phone is destroyed, stolen, or otherwise inaccessible. Though, fans always manage to find him and confirm that he is still roaming in the wild.

Jail

The Second Jail Arc would bring obvious confiscation of Daniel's phone, leading him to have no contact to the outside world.

Meltdown

Daniel may also freak out if he is locked out of his social media accounts or phone. Example of this can be seen in the Likee Meltdown.

Other Devices

Daniel may also resort to posting through alternative means, such as using a tablet, which could be seen in the July 2022 Electronic Destruction Spree.

Daniel has occasionally revealed what apps he has on his phone. On one occasion, he panicked and claimed to be in the process of deleting all apps, for unknown reasons.
