Daniel and fashion

Fashion commonly refers to the topic of clothing, and what articles of clothing are popular at any given period of time. To Daniel, fashion is something that he both appears to not be concerned with and simultaneously is deeply interested in, having participated in amateur modelling during the Classic Era. To outside observers, Daniel's choices in clothing can be rather odd. He commonly wears cheap, low-quality clothing bought at retailers like Walmart or Goodwill. In addition, he wears said clothing for prolonged periods of time without washing nor maintaining them. That, compounded with his aversion to hygiene, shows that Daniel has a poor sense of fashion, if any at all.

Daniel's preferred clothing

Daniel appears to prefer wearing loose, cheap clothing that's baggy on his underweight body. This may be in-part due to his autism; autistic people tend to have sensory issues, so wearing loose clothing may prevent too much contact with his skin. Most of the clothing he wears is either donated by people or purchased at retailers like Walmart and Goodwill. Both of those retailers are known for having cheap, mass-produced clothing that is poor in quality, and more often than not quite tacky. Due to him becoming homeless, any clothes he manages to scrape together are worn for multiple weeks on end, if not months, and are rarely – if ever – washed. This results in his clothes having noticeable stains, wear-marks and general blemishes of non-maintenance on them. A notable example is the infamous mold socks which he clad his feet with for weeks on end following his release from a psych ward following the Casino Incident.

Daniel's escapades in modelling

Despite his apparent aversion to good fashion sense and general unmaintained appearance, Daniel has participated in amateur modelling shows. Such shows displayed him in the iconic pineapple shirt, as well as him trying his best at a catwalk. It's good to note that in at least one of these modelling shows, he was on the runway with children. Knowing his track record, that probably wasn't the best idea in retrospect. Most of the modelling he did was with a pseudo-company named Southwest Model and Talent Agency, getting Bob to help him sign up and begin participating in shows.
