Daniel's very poor mental health, coupled with his tendency to share his antics online to the public (likely due to an insatiable need for attention,) has led him to engage with and be heavily influenced by trolls, making him a fitting example of a lolcow.

A Lolcow is an internet slang term used to describe a person, typically on social media or online forums, who becomes a source of amusement or entertainment for others due to their consistent and unintentional absurd or foolish behavior. Daniel Larson is a lolcow, a particularly popular one at that. Some examples of other lolcows are Chris Chan, Cyraxx, DSP, Boogie2988, or KingCobraJFS, although there are many, many more.

Lolcows are all different in their own special ways, but they typically all have some common characteristics between them, these being:

  • Repeated poor decision-making
  • Engaging in attention-seeking behavior, often to a pathological extent
  • Reacting strongly and defensively to criticism or trolling, which only gets them more trolling.
  • Generating content or drama that attracts online communities dedicated to documenting and commenting on their actions.
  • Lolcows can come from various online communities, including social media, gaming, forums, or any platform where individuals can interact with others.
