Amboxes, also known as Article Message Boxes, are a metatemplate. They are pre-set messages used in articles to clarify or to give disclaimers about the contents of any articles.

These are all current amboxes on the wiki, and are to be sorted at the top of the article in the order presented. If you are unsure that an ambox is to be put on a page, or If you’d like an ambox to be created and are unsure if it should be made, ask in the ambox discussion page, or consult an admin in the DL Wiki Discord.

CW

The “CW” ambox is to be included in articles covering sensitive, upsetting, or highly disturbing content. This ambox should be added on pages that cover:

Doxxing

The “Doxxing” ambox is only to be included on pages about people, which discourages readers from adding confidential information to pages. The Daniel Larson Wiki does not condone doxxing, and promptly bans those who do.

Rewrite

The “Rewrite” ambox is to be use very carefully. This ambox should only be used on pages that have two or more of the following:

  • Poor writing/illegible
  • Extensive bias that take up multiple paragraphs
  • Poor formatting/Unsubstantiated information or claims
  • False Information
  • Little to no information/missing content

CopyThis text is to space out these amboxes for readability

The “Copy” ambox is to be used on articles that have similar/the same content from other articles. In the case of determining if the article should be rewritten or deleted, one should consult an admin.

More Citations Needed is to space out these amboxes for readability

The “More Citations Needed” ambox is to be put on pages with unsubstantiated information or claims.

DontCite amboxes for readability

The “DontCite” ambox is only to be included on articles about people that furthermore have information that should be not be cited, as it could possibly dox the person in question. The Daniel Larson Wiki does not condone doxxing, and promptly bans those who do.

Contact

The “Contact” ambox is for only to be included on articles about people. This ambox is for people who readers (and editors) most definitely should not contact. The Daniel Larson wiki does not encourage others to harass people, and promptly bans those who do.

Credibility

The “Credibility” ambox is to only to be included on articles about people, or in sections with claims made by people on the wiki. This template should only be included if said person has a history of the following:

  • Compulsive lying
  • Delusions of grandiosity, especially when making claims about themselves
  • Delusional, or have a mental condition that impairs how they perceive themselves and their surroundings

Videos Need Archiving

The “Videos Need Archiving” ambox is for articles that use YouTube as a host for videos, or any other website that puts it at risk of being deleted/taken down, opposed to Archive.org or other archiving websites.

Stub

The “Stub” ambox is to be included on articles that need expanding, have missing content, or are otherwise incomplete. This ambox should not be added to articles with the “ongoing” template, and is only to be added after a situation has concluded if not already covered.

Bias

The “Bias” ambox is to be included on articles that are biased towards certain parties, groups, or people.

Grammar

The “Grammar” ambox is to be added on articles that have any of the following:

  • Grammar issues
  • Formatting issues

However, it must be noted that this template should only be added of these issues are on a smaller scale.

Ongoing

The “Ongoing” ambox is to be added on articles that cover ongoing situations, that are subject to change. If this ambox was added a month from the article being created, or after the situation has concluded, it is subject to deletion.
