Daniel Larson’s mother has been identified as Elisabeth Shimer. Growing up, Daniel’s parents abused and neglected him. Daniel revealed this on a TikTok Live and in comments of posts. After being taken away from her, Daniel’s Grandmother, Nancy Shimer, moved to Denver from California to care for Daniel. This is when he started going to The Tennyson Center at age 14.
